From March 31 to April 3, Zhou Zheng, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone and director of its Management Committee, led a delegation to visit South Korea. During the trip, they paid a visit to the Chinese Embassy in South Korea, held a special promotion meeting, visited 6 institutions and enterprises, and signed 3 cooperation agreements. The trip achieved fruitful results in a pragmatic and efficient manner, injecting strong impetus into the all-round and wide-ranging cooperation between the China-ROK Demonstration Zone and South Korea.
A visionary meeting and exchange
During the stay in South Korea, Zhou Zheng paid a special visit to Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Dai Bing. Zhou Zheng provided a detailed introduction to the development and construction of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone, as well as the achievements made. During the meeting, Dai Bing inquired in detail about the recent cooperation between the demonstration zone and South Korea, the construction of industrial chains, as well as the difficulties and bottlenecks encountered in investment promotion. He hoped that the demonstration zone, based on serving the national strategy, could propose its own work ideas and development strategies regarding how to collaborate with Jilin province and Changchun city in terms of investment policies and factor guarantees, in order to further promote China-South Korea cooperation under the new circumstances.
A special promotion event
On the afternoon of April 1, the China Changchun (Seoul) Trade and Economic Cooperation Promotion Conference, jointly hosted by the China-ROK Demonstration Zone and the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Economic Cooperation, was held in Seoul. Zhou Zheng presented a comprehensive overview of the strategic positioning, development trend, policy advantages and investment environment of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone to the guests from all walks of life. Zhongke Company of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone introduced the fund investment policies from the perspective of capital empowerment. During the exchange session, Zhou Zheng reached a consensus with Kim Sung-gon, former head of the National Assembly Affairs of South Korea and current chairman of the China Korean Entrepreneurs Association, on establishing a branch of the China Korean Entrepreneurs Association in the demonstration zone and holding the 2026 China (Changchun) Korea Week. Both sides agreed that Kim Sung-gon will lead member enterprises to visit the demonstration zone in mid-May. This promotion event has provided a platform for expanding the "circle of friends" of the demonstration zone and enhancing its international visibility in South Korea.
A series of pragmatic cooperation
During the visit, the delegation visited 6 well-known institutions and enterprises, and signed 3 cooperation agreements.
Focus on advanced manufacturing, and promote industrial positioning. At Sungdo Valve Co Ltd, the delegation visited the production line to gain a detailed understanding of its technical strength and production situation, and had in-depth discussions on the future layout and the implementation of production and assembly projects in Changchun.
At Laiputuo Co Ltd, Zhongke Company had in-depth discussions with the South Korean side on the production project of high-hardness glass film backboards, and signed a project cooperation agreement. In the future, they will jointly build production lines for mobile phone luminous panels, interchangeable cards and other related products in the China-ROK Demonstration Zone.
Expand medical beauty cooperation, and jointly develop the health industry. The delegation held talks with the South Korean Society of Plastic Surgeons, the South Korea-China Economic Association, and KD Corporation. They signed a tripartite cooperation memorandum on establishing a joint venture with Zhongke Company and the Jilin Provincial Fine Art Artist Association. Together, they will introduce top Korean medical resources and launch cooperation projects in the Chinese-South Korean medical beauty industry.
Build trade bridges, and serve companies in both countries. At KM Holdings Co Ltd, the delegation visited the Seoul bonded warehouse and reached a consensus on jointly building a comprehensive export service port for Chinese and South Korean enterprises and establishing a cross-border trade service platform. Zhongfa Company signed a cooperation agreement with KM Holdings.
Promote cultural exchanges, and deepen mutual understanding among people. The delegation visited the Sports Association and Taekwondo Association in Pyeongtaek, and reached a consensus on jointly organizing the China-ROK (Jilin) Youth Taekwondo Exchange Activity in 2026.
In addition, the delegation had productive exchanges with Seoul G-Space regarding the establishment of an exhibition and sales platform for South Korean products.
This trip to South Korea is a concrete action taken by the China-ROK Demonstration Zone to implement the Jilin provincial committee's decision to turn itself into the "main platform" for the province's cooperation with South Korea. It is also a vivid practice of seizing new opportunities for the development of China-South Korea relations. From industrial cooperation to cultural exchange, from project signing to platform establishment, the China-ROK Demonstration Zone has written a new chapter in cooperation with South Korea through practical actions. In the future, the demonstration zone will take advantage of the situation and make every effort to promote the implementation and flowering of various cooperation achievements, contributing greater strength to the healthy and stable development of economic and trade relations between China and South Korea.
