On August 27, Liu Naijun, secretary of the Party Working Committee of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, held practical talks with Kang Hyung-gu, acting consul general of South Korea in Shenyang, during the China (Jilin)—South Korea Trade and Economic Exchange Conference. The two sides had in-depth discussions on deepening China-South Korea cooperation in various fields and promoting high-quality development of the demonstration zone, in order to build consensus and clarify direction for future cooperation.
During the meeting, Liu Naijun warmly welcomed Kang Hyung-gu's attendance at the China (Jilin)—South Korea Trade and Economic Exchange Conference, and expressed his sincere gratitude to the South Korean Consulate General in Shenyang for its long-term concern and support to the cooperation between the China-ROK Demonstration Zone and South Korea. Liu said that the demonstration zone will fully leverage the representative role of "South Korean capital, South Korean enterprises, and South Korean people", continuously optimize the international and law-based business environment, improve living supporting services, and provide solid guarantees for the development of South Korean-funded enterprises and the peaceful and prosperous life of South Korean people. In the future, the demonstration zone hopes to leverage the resources and influence of the South Korean Consulate General in Shenyang, promote its location advantages, policy dividends and development potential on a wider scale and at a higher level, and attract more South Korean enterprises and talents.
Kang Hyung-gu congratulated the successful holding of the China (Jilin)—South Korea Trade and Economic Exchange Conference and highly praised the development achievements of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone in recent years. The demonstration zone has obvious geographical advantages, clear strategic positioning and rapid development momentum, he said, adding that it is a key cooperation area that the South Korean Consulate General in Shenyang focuses on. "From the China-South Korea youth Taekwondo exchange activities in the sports field, to the China (Jilin)—South Korea Trade and Economic Exchange Conference in the economic field, and to the upcoming 2025 Korea Week event, the demonstration zone has been continuously making efforts in cooperation with South Korea. The two sides also held talks on the connection between Chinese and South Korean auto parts firms, as well as the preparation for the 2025 Korea Week event.
Tang Dapeng, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone and director of its Management Committee, Yang Zhen, director of the Management Office of the Changchun Opening-up and Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and Son Chang-ho, economic consul of South Korea in Shenyang, participated in the meeting.
