Delegation from China-ROK Demonstration Zone carries out economic and trade exchanges in South Korea

From July 22 to July 26, Yang Zhen, director of the Management Office of the Changchun Opening-up and Cooperation Demonstration Zone, led a delegation to South Korea to carry out a 5-day economic and trade exchange activity. During the period, the delegation held a promotion meeting in Daegu, and visited the Incheon Free Economic Zone, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Science Park, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch of the South Korea-China Association for Economy, Culture and Education, Daegu Haany University, as well as 10 South Korean-funded enterprises such as SK Telecom and Cell Biotech, opening a new chapter for the China-ROK Demonstration Zone to expand cooperation with South Korea in all fields.

At the promotion meeting held in the Wookyung Information Building on July 24, more than 30 participating companies conducted exchanges and interactions. The China-ROK Demonstration Zone signed strategic cooperation agreements with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Branch of the South Korea-China Association for Economy, Culture and Education and Daegu Haany University in the fields of economy, trade, culture and education, laying a solid foundation for all-round and wide-ranging cooperation. 4 key enterprises in the demonstration zone, including Jilin Lanpu Technology and Jilin Fran Medical Technology, reached their initial cooperation intention with Gyeongbuk Science Park, Lumi Korea, and other companies in South Korea. This is the first time that the demonstration zone has led enterprises to carry out economic and trade exchanges in South Korea, exploring new ways of promoting its high-quality economic development.

On July 22, the demonstration zone and the Incheon Free Economic Zone held preliminary talks on establishing an international friendship area. Yun Won-sok, commissioner of the Incheon Free Economic Zone, said that during the ninth China-Japan-ROK leaders' meeting, Chinese Premier Li Qiang proposed to further promote the construction of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone. He hoped that the two sides would take the visit as an opportunity to further strengthen communication and jointly promote all-round and multi-field cooperation. Established in 2003, the 169.5-sq-km Incheon Free Economic Zone is South Korea's first national-level economic zone. To date, more than 100 large and medium-sized enterprises have registered in the economic zone.

During the stay in South Korea, the delegation visited SK Telecom, Cell Biotech, Asterasys and Daegu-Gyeongbuk Science Park to gain a deeper understanding of South Korea's advanced experience and technology in such areas as technological innovation and biomedicine. They conducted extensive and in-depth discussions on industrial cooperation and technology introduction, and reached a series of important consensuses. Changchun Haobang Health Technology and Cell Biotech discussed whether Korean probiotic strains in the field of medicine and food homology can be used in the Chinese market. Jilin Lanpu Technology communicated with Lumi Korea and Daegu Haany University cosmetics factory on the agency sales of all-purpose face cream and the export of postoperative face cream, respectively. Jilin Fran Medical Technology and South Korea Chungwoon Talent Development Institute exchanged ideas on the agent of Chinese postoperative repair and scar repair products. China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone Equity Investment Fund Management had in-depth exchanges with Hyundai Digital Future Network on the establishment of small and medium-sized enterprise investment funds.

On July 25, the delegation communicated with Daegu Haany University on exchanging students, strengthening exchanges among young students and promoting cultural and sports activities. The delegation also visited the cosmetics factory on campus to build a platform for communication between enterprises in the demonstration zone and the South Korean side.

Officials from the bureau of international cooperation and exchanges, the 1st bureau of economic cooperation, Changrong Group, Equity Fund and the investment promotion representative office in South Korea participated in relevant activities.
