From March 11 to 12, Li Longxi, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Group of the CPPCC Jilin Provincial Committee and vice chairman, led officials from the Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce and the China-ROK Demonstration Zone to Beijing to carry out a 2-day economic and trade exchange activity. Liu Naijun, secretary of the Party Working Committee of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone, participated in the activity.
During the stay in Beijing, the team visited LG Chem, POSCO, the China-Asia Economic Development Association and the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency China Headquarters to introduce the development advantages, opportunities and prospects of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone, and invited them to participate in the 2024 China (Jilin)—ROK Economic and Trade Exchange Conference. Efforts were made to deepen exchanges and cooperation with South Korea for win-win development.

At LG Chem, relevant personnel introduced the development of the company and the goals of reaching carbon neutrality by 2030 and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Li Longxi introduced the development situation, resource endowment and comparative advantages of Jilin province. Liu Naijun said that LG Chem matches the industrial system of the China-ROK Demonstration Zone in such areas as solid-state battery, OLED, cosmetic medicine and agriculture, and cooperation between the two sides has broad prospects. Hopefully, both sides will strengthen communication and exchanges, and seek opportunities for cooperation, Liu added.

During the meeting with POSCO, Liu Naijun gave an introduction to the China-ROK Demonstration Zone's "3+1" industrial system and SPIC PEM hydrogen production and hydrogen fuel cell projects. He expressed his hope to carry out cooperation with POSCO in the hydrogen energy sector, promote the upgrading of the hydrogen industry of the demonstration zone, and achieve win-win results for both sides.

In the China-Asia Economic Development Association, Li Longxi thanked the association for its contributions to the economic development, trade and cultural exchanges between China and South Korea, introduced the development situation and comparative advantages of Jilin province in recent years, and focused on promoting the China-ROK Demonstration Zone. Li expressed his hope to maintain communication with the association and attract more high-quality enterprises to invest and develop in Jilin province. Liu Naijun stressed that at present, the China-ROK Demonstration Zone is pragmatically promoting the implementation of South Korean-funded projects by exploring the establishment of a South Korean-funded enterprise guidance fund and an investment promotion office in Seoul. Liu said that hopefully, the demonstration zone will make a significant breakthrough in attracting investment from South Korea with the help of the CPPCC Jilin Provincial Committee and the Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce, as well as the strength of the China-Asia Economic Development Association.

During the visit to the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency China Headquarters, Li Longxi expressed the hope that the agency will actively serve as a bridge for economic and trade cooperation between Jilin province and South Korea, and will encourage more South Korean enterprises to visit the China-ROK Demonstration Zone. Liu Naijun said that the demonstration zone is accelerating the establishment of a service platform for South Korean-funded enterprises, exploring the "park in the zone" operation model, actively participating in and organizing economic and trade activities of all kinds. Liu added that hopefully, the demonstration zone and the agency will further strengthen contacts, deepen interaction, and expand cooperation in various fields.

During the activity, further communication was held regarding the implementation of the CJ Group's precooked food processing project.

Officials from the Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce, the Provincial Government Office in Beijing, and the China-ROK Demonstration Zone participated in the activity.
