On the afternoon of March 4, Liu Naijun, secretary of the Party Working Committee of the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, visited Xing Haiming, China's ambassador to the Republic of Korea (ROK).
During the meeting, Liu Naijun introduced the basic situation and development characteristics of the demonstration zone to Xing Haiming, and elaborated on the development direction of the high-end equipment manufacturing, health, optoelectronic information and modern service sectors of the demonstration zone. Liu said that the demonstration zone is actively following the spirit of the meeting on Korean-funded enterprises, solidly promoting the building of the service platform for Korean-funded enterprises, exploring the "park in the zone" operation model, and accelerating the establishment of a Seoul office. In the next step, the demonstration zone will attract and utilize foreign investment with greater efforts. Liu expressed his hope that under the guidance and support of the embassy, the demonstration zone will deepen cooperation with the ROK in multiple fields, create more resilient and competitive industry clusters, and build a highland of industrial cooperation.
Xing spoke highly of the detailed introduction made by Liu and the current results achieved by the demonstration zone, and stressed the importance of the meeting on deepening communication and exchanges between the two sides. Xing said that the embassy will provide full support within its responsibilities, introduce the demonstration zone to all sectors of the ROK, encourage Korean-funded enterprises to actively participate in the development of the demonstration zone, boost the economic and trade development of the two countries, and keep playing a bridging role to help the development of economic and trade relations between the two countries. He said that the current global political and economic situation is grim and complex, but local cooperation and economic and trade exchanges cannot be stalled. At present, many technology-based enterprises in the ROK are facing a shortage of funds, and the demonstration zone should fully utilize the comprehensive advantages of Jilin province, Changchun city and other regions, actively seek cooperation, seize development opportunities in cooperation, and further focus on emerging industries that lead future development.
Yang Zhen, director of the Management Office of the Changchun Opening-up and Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and relevant officials from the Bureau of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Changrong Group and Equity Fund participated in the activity.
